I finally forked over the load, and bought myself the new MBPs. I got the 15 after people telling me 17 is just a joke to carry around. I got the 2.4 ghz, 4 gigs of ram, and 160 HD.

This things screams. I can not hear a damn thing from this machine. It is ever so silent.

I also bought the CS3 Premium. I really have pushed this machine to the limits. Simply amazing what a well written OS can do. I am awaiting Leopard to convert from 32 to 64.

The conversion over from Windows to OSX is amazing. I have not had a single issue with any software, driver, etc. I running wireless net, bluetooth mouse, and 1 tera of external from WD. If you can, jump ship the grass is truly greener.

I love Apple. I am a fanboy.

Does anyone know if the glossy ones have a tendency to reflect/glare? I remember being on a plane once with a screen on an HP laptop that had so much glare I couldn't see the screen through the image of myself. Is that a "glossy" screen?

I have a feeling that Apple would have put more effort into making sure that sort of thing wasn't an issue, too. Attention to detail is, IMO, what really separates Apple products from other consumer electronics.

I got the matte. The glossy is insane with glare. Plus I really like the feel of matte.

The best is to go inside an Apple store and look at both. Glossy would work fine if you have a good location, but otherwise you will look like a dear in head lights, or at least I felt that way. The blacks are super rich with the glossy. ;)

It's never been an argument against Apple being quality as they are the only ones that design their hardware to work with their software. If you don't have a workspace where you're constantly in low light, don't get the glossy. I own a few of their cases and have for over five years. I've known people to get the Silverstone, CoolerMaster, etc. and they just aren't built as well. CoolerMaster had several issues with making their cases too thick, years ago, so the heat didn't dissipate (sp?) fast enough and overall temps. suffered. Many of their cases aren't designed well for easy custom configurations but they do have some excellent models. I honestly haven't run into many cases that are so well manufactured and so easy to work with. They cool well, they're quiet and very sturdy. What other cases do you have experience with that would be good, if not better?

Ha. I had some crazy issue with it over the weekend. Drove me nuts. I got it back from apple and everything was golden. It was just being freaky of course could have been my issue because I have touched everything I could. Anyway, the support was tres excellent sold me on buying the three year. They have such super service. I just left my laptop there and the guy fixed it. Love the apple, die by apple.

Don't get me wrong, I too have been a solid believer of Lian Li products based on the sheer volume of positive reviews I've read about them. However, I personally have not owned a Lian Li or any other "known" brand for that matter.

A few months before I bought my laptop, I was considering getting a new case for my old PC and during the course of my searching, I ended up reading an enormous number forums / reviews / first hand accounts from people who were Lian Li owners and moved on to experiment with different brands. An extremely high number of the reviews I read said the new products they tried worked just as good (if not better) and were slightly cheaper than their earlier Lian Li counterparts.

That's when my opinion of Lian Li swayed off.

Since "cooling" topped my list of considerations in wanting to buy a case, this was one of the 3 I considered.

The inside of that thing looks poorly made and I'm just going off of comparison with full tower cases. I presently have a PC-V2000B Plus II and love it. It's completely tooless and everything is so damn easy to work on. Granted, that case you list here is only $120 so I can see why it's not all aluminum and I'm sure it's worth it for the price. I wonder what case he had prior. Not all of Lian-Li cases will work out if you have the wrong application. I've seen horror stories of dudes buying a mid tower case, completely stuffing them full and then wondering why the temps. aren't the greatest. A lot of morons out there that don't understand airflow and cooling. Read, people... c'mon.

EDIT: I just went through and skimmed some of the reviews on there and read the cons. Some of those cons are pretty serious in respect to it not being completely tooless to some applications. You don't run into that with many Lian-Li cases. When they say tooless, they don't mean "Unless you actually use this type of card, etc., etc.". They mean tooless. As always, before you buy a case, go play with one first to see if you're really going to like it.

I know about aluminum and so on, but you have to understand "why" I narrowed my choices down to ones I made. Temps/resulting fan noise were my largest considerations and considering this case across the board has reviews where temps have dropped, regardless of metal design, it made my list of cases to consider.

Toolless design is of little concern or consequence since I am not a modder and what's been setup will not be removed.

In any event I have a lappie now so I wont be considering another PC until next year. I'll probably look at Lian Li's again but the one I had in narrowed (was about $140 iirc) had a rating on nearly the same scale as the XClio and so the $20 cheaper tag only made sense to go with.

^ ^ Understandable. My case wasn't the cheapest at all but I am completely thrilled with it. The lower price level Lian-Lis aren't the "greatest" but they do present things that you won't find on comparable priced cases. High quality interiors, ease of installation, quality construction, etc. Fans that come with a case are rarely any good for proper cooling and noise levels. I've always had to buy replacements to suit my needs and that's quite common. You rarely see a case with the style of fans that one would want.
