Hi people I recently downloaded some Video files. The problem is that when I open up the file I get image but no sound. I also get a meassege telling me that Quicktime needs a software to play the file and I get sended to this page: [URL]http://www.apple.com/quicktime/resources/components.html?os=OSX&ctype=61646563&csubtype=6d732000[/URL]

Here are the plugins that I have instal for quicktime:

DivX Codec: DivX Encoder.component XvidCodec: XviD_Codec-r58 (Intel).component, AviImporter-r7 (Intel).component, XviD_Codec v0.5.1.component Flip4mac

sounds like your mac isnt updated with the latest codec

There are so many codecs out there it's difficult to even guess what to install unless you know what your video was encoded in. But players like VLC or mplayer pretty much play anything out of the box.
