Macbook/Internet Speed Help.

Well, I love the new Mac book but all of a sudden my upload and download speeds have taken a shit... I am not using the wireless(Airport), I have an ethernet cable plugged in to my Mac. Like I said, I was getting great speeds up until now. Some where in the area of 60kbps+ and now they are at like 2.5-3kbps. :( I may have accidentally messed with the settings as I'm not to familiar with Mac yet. Does someone know how to fix this? I'm trying to upload a new mix to Sendspace and it says that it's going to take 10 hours!!! WTF...It used to only take like 20 minutes or less. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

^^^I tried megaupload and sendspace and both were slow as hell...also, a file transfer to a friend on AIM was going to take nearly 5 hours..As far as settings that I was adjusting, I really dont know....I am new to mac computers and dont know what the hell I'm adjusting. I was just wanting to know if there was anyone else with a mac that knows how to fix this...Like I said, my internet speed was really fast a couple of days ago, but now it stalled to a screeching halt, and I dont know why. Maybe I messed with a setting and don't realize it. Any help is appreciated.

call your isp i don't think this has to do with any setting.

Davey, if you don't know what you're adjusting then why adjust them? That should've been your second clue that something wasn't right. Your first? You hit the power button. :p

has your issue been resolved? I searched tech forums for you and was not able to obtain anything helpful. The only thing I really noticed on most boards was on a recent update it was altering peoples DNS/MAC config data. You just had to go back and alter it (DNS Data) to some generic number and it seemed to resolve most user issues. Also on apple.com there are numerous support documentations, and you can also call apple yourself. You have 90 days of support if you bought your product new or as a refurb from apple.

Good luck. Keep us posted. Also MikeP is a tech guy for apple products, and I am sure if you ask nicely he may be able to share more light on the subject.

^^Nope. Still slow on the downloads/uploads issue. Web pages open slower than usual too...I dont know what I should do, and I miss the speed that I was getting a week or so ago..Sucks...Thanks for the concern :)

Seems to be working a bit better now..Not sure what the deal was, but I guess it's back to normal..Thanks for the inquiry, and thanks to all who gave me advice on this. :)
