the last two nights at around the same time (coincidence?) - my utorrent has crashed and my machine has become frozen. Last night on trying to shut things down I noticed a box flash up that said something like dumpreg.exe or dumppreg.exe or dump?.exe which sounds terribly like a nasty thing to me.

I now have two small chevrons on my launch bar - botttom left near the start bar; either side of my IE and firfox symbols. I cant get rid of them, move them or open them

SO I restarted in safemode - there were no programs running that I couldnt tell what they were; no viruses were detected; no spyware was detected on full scans.

So any idea's?

I did a hijack this log (in full working mode) - but i couldnt see anything nasty

anyhelp appreciated

EDIT: I posted the log but the pages sizes make it impossible toread - I can email to someone ifhey want to take a look.

funny u should mension that btw coz the last couple of days my torrent has done the exact same thing...u using utorrent? first time it happened i had to uninstall the reinstall second time it happened i had to delete all the torrents i was seeding and i havnt used it since

i think its a bug in the program m8 and i have no idea about those chevrons, sure they wernt there b4? i,ve only been using torrents for tribalmixes.com :what

Yeah similar thing happened to me and to Vlacke a while back...I think its just a bug in the program...It happened once and not again, I don't know why and I didn't have any flashing dump.exe or anything similar.

turns out those chevrons appear/disaaper when you lock / unlock the task bar at the bottom

must of happened as I tried to shut everything down in a panic

so i think Im safe..
