Re: Assassins Creed

Wow, this game ACE. Playing on the 360 and the graphics are superb. The motions of the character are phenominal, espcially when climbing. Its just fun, running over roof tops and sweeping down on your target and putting your knife in their throat lickety split. I have yet to play mass effect or COD 4, but so far this is THE game of 2007 for the 360 imo.

^ ^ You using an elite system with an HDMI output or just going on regular output?

Re: Assassins Creed

Re: Assassins Creed

HDTV prices are insane right now. My brother just got a 69 series Sammy for half the retail price and it has only been on the market for 4 1/2 months. That fucker.

if the game isnt written in 1080p, then both hdmi and component output will look the same ;)
if the game isnt written in 1080p, then both hdmi and component output will look the same ;)
Not if the game can output in 720P. Then you'd much rather have the HDMI vs. component because the sync won't be banded with the green. Wait... we're talking about an MS product here so even that might not be accurate. I'm talking pro grade, not consumer. Who the fuck knows how MS made their shit outputs.

Re: Assassins Creed

if your tv is full hi def, why would you ever downgrade to 720P?

I will agree though the Component output on the Xbox sucks balls, the cables get so much interference from other stuff, I get odd diagonal lines at times on my TV.

#952739Post 13 of 22

Re: Assassins Creed

My point with the 720P talk is that there are many games designed for the Xbox360 (and PS3) that are max. 720P and not 1080P. There are also games that are only in 480P and are upcoverted. If you have a game with a max. native resolution of 720P, you'd most likely want to use the HDMI output if that is available on your gaming system.

What shit reviews did you read? I am sure they exist, but the "experts" all seemed to like it.

Gamespot - 9.0/10 Gamepro - 5.0/5/0 (editor's choice) G4 - 5.0/5.0 IGN - 7.7/10 (not mind blowing, but certainly not shite) Game Informer - 9.5/10

Re: Assassins Creed

I remember when Gamepro was a 45 page magazine that was free. Memories.

I know a lot of cats that write reviews, 1up and g4, and apparently Ubisoft made "donations" to these companies to insure decent reviews. These guys told me that on the whole most of the reviewers thought the game was shitty. Same thing happened with Kane&Lynch but in that case the shit reviews got out and some dude got canned.
We've heard an unsettling rumor today from an anonymous tipster that longtime game reviewer Jeff Gerstmann from Gamespot has been let go. That wouldn't necessarily be newsworthy, but the conditions under which he was allegedly dismissed were. According to the source, Gerstmann was fired "on the spot" due to advertiser pressure for his review of Eidos' Kane & Lynch: Dead Men. A visit to Gamespot shows that the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game has taken over the site very prominently, with backgrounds and multiple banner ads all pitching Kane & Lynch. Allegedly, publisher Eidos "took issue with the review and threatened to pull its ad campaign." Jeff's review was certainly less than glowing. He assigned the game a 6.0, otherwise known as "Fair" on the Gamespot scale. The game is currently enjoying a Metacritic score in the 65 to 69 range, which the site describes as "mixed or average reviews." According to our tipster, it wasn't necessarily the score that was reason for Gerstmann's rumored axing, but the "tone" of the review. Gerstmann has been no stranger to controversial reviews, as his scores of 10 for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 and 8.8 for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess had sensitive internet users up in arms. It's now possible that many bitter fanboys may have had their wishes for his firing granted. As our tipster points out, if the rumor is true, it could point to a distressing precedent at Gamespot and parent company CNet. "As writers of what is supposed to be objective content, this is our worst nightmare coming to life," wrote the tipster. Our efforts to confirm the story with Gamespot haven't proved successful. Our current requests with PR, Gerstmann and other CNet contacts have either gone unanswered or yielded a "no comment."
Re: Assassins Creed

Was at a friends house on Xmas day and his boy was playing this - seems decent enough but I don't think I'd pay £30 for it, there is nothing ground breaking in it IMO.

Re: Assassins Creed

i finished the game the other day....my overall experience of the game is that its not really all what it was made out to be. it was very repetitive as far as game play, but graphics were very good. but i would not recommend buying the game, i rented it and was glad that i didnt buy it.

Re: Assassins Creed

Okay, after playing it some more, I will reel in my initial enthusiasm. The game DOES get repetitive, but visually, I still think its one of the best games to date for the 360.

Re: Assassins Creed

I got the game and have stopped playing it.. Killed the first 3/9 guys each in the same way.. I read a couple of online reviews and feel i was slightly mislead but sure its not the first game i have owned thats not been up to much..

Looks great but it is a very repetitive game i found..

Re: Assassins Creed

That's the major complaint. Game is good for 30 minutes and then never play it again.
