Is there a way to upload an extracted zip file to an Ipod?

I d/l a zip file such as the last Steve Porter Sirius set, but once I extract it I can't click and drag across to the ITunes library.

Is this normal? Thanks for any advice.

if its extracted and converted into an mp3, drag and drop should work without a problem
