Dognabbit, my laptop is crashing harder than a 747 running out of fuel in mid flight.

I boot the thing up and without doing anything, there's an error causing my Generic SV Host bla dee bla to fuck up (write error). After that my laptop is less active than a vegetable.

Anyone???

Re: Heeeeeelp (loptop troubles)

Do a system restore. I've had that generic SVC Host process error and there are 50 fixes on Microsoft's website for them. (I tried all and none fixed the error).

Alternately, you can also boot into safe mode and try and do a windows update to see if any updates are installed which fix the issue.

Re: Heeeeeelp (loptop troubles)

speaking of...my damn laptop the last couple of days keeps randomly turning off, i dont think it is a heat issue or battery because i try it with the ac power in, and the battery in and out and it has kept doing it. i need to boot off a linux cd and see if i can run something to tell me what the heat situation looks like. other than that i cant tell, it just happened randomly for the first time 2 days ago, the laptop was working perfect up until then.

I had the same problem with my PC after it "survived" a power surge. Worked like a charm with the casing removed, but when I put it back on, it would reboot out of the blue...

Re: Heeeeeelp (loptop troubles)

Get a copy of "CCLEANER" and run it to see if you have any registry / other problems. I hope its not a Dell laptop as some of these have had problems with their batteries overheating & exploding.

Re: Heeeeeelp (loptop troubles)

Yeah it's a Dell, but the battery is fine.

Got the problem solved with the system restore btw.
