how to recover a word document!

is there any chance on recover a word document if i re-write it?.....i mean i try to open a file but inseted of open it and rewrite it with a blank document..... dammit :( :oops:

Assuming you had Word's autorecover feature turned on, Word should open up with a list of recoverable files after a crash or power failure. Otherwise:

  1. Click on the Open icon
  2. Navigate to where your recovery files are located (you can find out where in Preferences, File Locations)
  3. Click on Show All
  4. Each backup copy is named as "AutoRecover save of "
  5. Open the file you want
  6. Save

That's from Word's help btw ;)

thanks bro, did that but 0 files on that folder...but hum...thanks anyway...doing my mates work again :(

ctrl + s is the answer. prior to the problem of course.

ctrl+z just after you made the mistake. look for backup documents. word used to create them before. no idea how it works now
