To update on this - Gears has ruined me for other games at this point. I've tried playing a few other games, but Gears is so far ahead graphically and fun to play that I don't enjoy other games.

Btw, Gamespot gave it game of the year.

I love the controls + the way the characters move in relation.... very very fluid

Intuitive...there is almost no learning curve as far as the controls go.

As far as I'm aware it only puts out 720p or 1080i, but not 1080p

In fact, I'm not sure which games support 1080p (yet)... maybe Fight Night. God damn the character modeling in that game is ridiculous :)

None of the next-gen consoles can do 1080p. But then again, very few HDTVs can do it either...so it doesn't make all that big of a difference.

its on my list. over the holidays, i saw it played on a friend of a friends 60 something inch tv. since detailing textures on everything.

im about half way through it now. not many games get adrenaline flowing. this does in a few spots.

I'm onto the first Berserker, trying to lure him out of the building. Man, I am actually SCARED of it ha ha ha! You run away from it and the next thing you know it chops you up into little pieces! You can't even see it coming.

Will definitely crack it today, I know what I have to do, just can't do it right yet!

walk, dont run, its deaf, when you get to the front of the door, turn around slowly and face it and then reload your weapon, as soon as it charges at you, jump out of the way.

and yes it's scary trying to fight it cause you gotta walk away from it and you never see it coming until you're in pieces :lol:

Just picked up a Xbox 360 and this is the first game I purchased. Can't wait to give it a try.

get ready to get hooked..... and for the love of God dont start at the easiest mode, pick the middle one, else you'll finish the game in 2 straight days like me and regret not getting the best bang for your buck
