You're definitely right! I've looked for a soccer game for ps3 for a little while now but no luck. They've got a golf game but no soccer?!?!?

I went to Circuit City yesterday and one their supposed game gurus said that the PS3 wont officially take off until the middle of spring or even as early as early as summer because sony continues to "reduce" the number of units they are bringing into the states, apparently this number has dropped form 800,000 to 500,000 estimated units.

So unless you've reserved a PS3 with a well known retailer, your wait might be a little longer than anticipated.

Few other items he mentioned which I felt were noteworthy were that

1. The unit is brand new and there will be a ton of bugs and issues upon release which will be more than likely corrected through December or Jan

2. Sony did not release the PS3 quickly enough to developers and so we'll be looking at least end Jan / early Feb to get any of the good games.

3. Microsoft has been hounding licenses for ALL the good games out on Sony/PS3 and so its only a matter of time until we see them out on the 360.

4. As it stands, the ONLY PLUSES that the PS3 has over the 360 are the better graphics capabilities and the blu ray dvd player. Both of which are useless unless you got a Hi-Def TV.

He went on to say that you can get BOTH the Nintendo Wii AND the base 360 for the price of a PS3.

Is the PS3 actually bloated out to be more than it really is esp at the price it is? I surely felt that yesterday

I think this is the most important thing he said. Ya gotta consider the source here, to some extent. This guy isn't going to be able to sell you a PS3, because there won't be any on the shelves this Christmas. He's in sales, so of course he's going to do what he can to encourage you to favor something he can actually sell you.

Some of his criticism is probably valid to some extent, but I wouldn't overreact.

how come nobody talks about the Wii ?? lol, don't underestimate the power of presents, think about how many consoles will be purchased from parents just wanting their kids to hush their little mouths (considering the fact that it will be the lower-cost console).

just saw the PS3 in stores today ... i think they are imported sets from Japan or something 'cos the prices are crazy ... $1400 (USD$900) for a 20Gb set and $1600 (USD$1030) for the 60Gb

whats even more crazy about it is that there isnt any games on sale for the PS3 so people would basically just be buying the console and nothing else

Even though its expensive, but don't forget you can play Blu-ray movies on it. The Blu-ray player alone sells for $999. I'd rather wait til prices come down early next year and more supply for 2 main reasons - there could be lots of bugs to work out early in production like someone mentioned and there doesn't appear to be great games at launch.

buddy of mine went to stand in line this morning to get one when they went on sale at midnight. Of course, he was already too late, as there had been people that camped out last night in line.

As an aside, the weather in St. Louis yesterday was beyond shitty. Cold, rainy, and blustery. It must have been miserable evening for them.

as long as you have windows xp media center and a router (wireless or not) you can synch the 360 and your pc to share pics, music and videos. media player 11 has a share media with 360 option.

what i did is add a tv tuner card and a 500 gb hd (you dont need that much neccesarily) and the pc will effectivly become a free tivo (streaming to the xbox as well).

microsoft just did a big update also so with music pictures and video you have the option of controlling access through the 360 dashboard or opening media center on the 360 (not tv...that still only runs through media center)

it's pretty nice to be able to listen to your own tunes when you are playing a game
