I hope someone can help me... I have a few DJ sets as mp3's and I'm wanting to split certain tracks from within the mp3's so then I can put onto a separate CD. Is there any free programs which can do this?
- thanks to all that reply.

Re: Splitting up tracks on an MP3 set.
audacity is free and can do it, but its kind of a pain in the ass. everyone talks about nero and .cue files but i don't know much about that one
Re: Splitting up tracks on an MP3 set.
if you have a cue file you can play the set with foobar since it can display it like it was seperate tracks. then mark all the tracks and click on export and foobar writes them as seperate tracks on your hd and then you are able to burn 'em on a cd!
Re: Splitting up tracks on an MP3 set.
in all honesty cd architect is the easiest thing to use on earth... but it's expensive and is bundled with soundforge now... you can probably find a stand alone copy cheap somewhere. you just open the file by double clicking it and add tracks where ever you want by right clicking the mouse under the timeline layout and choosing "insert cd track" in the menu. that's it. click the burn button in the toolbar and you're done. you can also add cd text, vst effects and volume fades since this is a professional red book cd authoring program. my two cents.

Or, if you want to separate the tracks as individual mp3s... create (or download) a cue file and use musiCutter to do it. It's free and VERY easy to use.
