Re: Questions about e-bay. Please help

I'd steer clear of this mate.....

A. All the feedback this "seller" has is from user's who are no longer registered.
B. All of the before mentioned "user's" all joined around the same date this year.
C. All of this "sellers" auctions have been removed by ebay.
D. Do I really need a D here?.

Re: Questions about e-bay. Please help

Just use common sense. Read all of the information, check the reseller's ratings and past reviews. A good piece of advice is to start with the worst. What I mean by that is, if you're interested in something from either a seller or a store online, read all of the negative feedback and check the dates. Good luck.

Re: Questions about e-bay. Please help

Ebay can be shady, just make sure your seller has a track record. There are a lot of good deals, and a lot of scams. Typically most items are sold at whatever market value is, so be cautious.

Re: Questions about e-bay. Please help

the latests scams & frauds involve posting equipment like that & computers...I know because I had my account hacked into before and had about $300 in listing fees racked up nearly instantly. If someone didn't ask me a question about one of my "listings" soon after it happened, by the time I noticed, it would have been a lot worse to clean up the mess. Luckily, it only took about 2 hours on a Sunday afternoon to get it all put into effect and I was credited the next day.

Keys to note for these scams: -seller is usually from China -seller has 100% "positive" feedback -checking the "feedback" sees all aren't registered users anymore -the item description may include an email address to get the "buy it now" price -items are electronics, like cameras, computers, and the Pioneers/DJ Equipment

Out of the 3 links you posted (the search one not counting), this one is the more legit: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/PIONEER-CDJ-1000-MK2-CDJ1000-CDJ-1000_W0QQitemZ230003543557QQihZ013QQcategoryZ91384QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

but there's 8 days left, so expect it to go up nicely.

Re: Questions about e-bay. Please help

You don't want to buy anything like that from overseas unless it's otherwise unavailable locally or it's ultra-fucking-rare. You also have to consider import taxes and sick shipping charges. Seller feedback and PayPal protection go a long way. I've been in many battles over expensive purchases gone bad on eBay. Learned a hell of a lot in the process too. Any more questions in particular, just ask.

Re: Questions about e-bay. Please help

Stay away from PayPal. They've tried to fuck me over so many times. They have a crappy policy.

This concept should really guide your experience on eBay -- if a deal seems to good to be true, it likely is. You can reasonably expect to pay less than FMV, but not by a huge margin.

Anymore, the only way you're going to get something at well less than market value is if the item is misspelled or is ending in the middle of the night when not many people are on there.
