Hey all i keep getting these messages when i try deleting some files and folders.

Cannot delete file: cannot read from the source file or disk

cannot delete (file name): Cannot find the specified file. Make sureu specify the correct path and file name

How do i get rid of thses folders and files?? Please help

Error report 1 "cannot read from..." sounds like you try to delete files on a disc and not on the hard drive. Are the folders/files marked as read only?

Error report 2 "cannot find" - sorry, never heard of that, need more infos.

Did you ever change the name of the parent folder that these files are contained in? What I mean is, while you have the file opened or accessed, did you change the "root" folder, parent folder that has the file in it?

No the folder has not got read only ticked in the box. Both boxes are not ticked. What i did was this. I have share pood which is program that transfers music from my ipod to my computer. i used this program to transfer these folders. Then when they were on my computer i opened a new folder and cut the tracks in original folder to new folder ( i did this cause in i tunes the tracks have names of songs etc). Hope i make sense. please help ;)

Try defragmenting, rebooting, then try deleting.

If not still, use DOS...(works for me most of the time when error #1 hits)

if you have recently uninstalled a program but the program was still runnning then the files needed to run the program will be stored in temp memory, usually a restart should allow you to manually delete those files, if its an internet based program then u might find that the program is connected to the net and therefore it wont be able to be deleted as the files are running @ the time of delete.....my advice is to close everything, dissconnect from the net restart ( sztill dissconnected from the net ) and try again, if that doesnt work then try hitting ctrl alt and delete and then hit the end procceses and try manually delete the files, mho you should be fine after a restart
