Bigger hard drives in the near future
Re: Bigger hard drives in the near future

researchers from Drexel University and University of Pennsylvania are able to squeeze 12.8 million gigabytes of information into a cubic centimeter
Would love to see the day
Imagine the possibility of million-gigabyte hard drives.
yea. they're called terrabyte hard drives and they already exist
Re: Bigger hard drives in the near future
That is not the case. If it were a Terabyte then that would be 1,000 Gigabytes. If it were 1,000,000 Gigabytes then you'd be in possession of a Petabyte. And another thing, Terabyte hard drives do not exist. Those external devices that contain 1TB of storage in fact are an array of hdds. ;)

what he said
Re: Bigger hard drives in the near future
oops..off a couple of 0's on a late night. :Who:
With Seagate soon to be introducing it's version of a 750GB hard drive though, a true 1TB isn't too far off.
It's almost to keep doing it just to keep ahead and sell stuff. Million-gig hard drives in the personal computing world have absolutely no sense to have at this time.
Re: Bigger hard drives in the near future
Actually, I could use a Petabyte drive. ;)
Re: Bigger hard drives in the near future
^^^got worthless crap? :Naughty:
Re: Bigger hard drives in the near future
"Worthless"... could be. ;)
