I'll wait for 5 more years. I just bought my PS2 a year ago, and have plenty of years left of buying Greatest Hits titles for $20

i think both those prices are fucking outrageous, they must be out their minds, but if they hit me with final fantasy 12 ill be forced to pay :(

when i heard the price of the system i thought it was a little cheaper than it was going to be. current prices for a blu-ray player are around 1000-1200 bucks. i was thinking that the playstation was going to be at least 800 by the time it comes out.
either way thats a huge chuck o change to be putting down on a game system, and a new technology that might not be embraced like the dvd was. you have to remember a lot of people bought the playstation early to play games and play dvd's.
i can't see myself spending that much. exspecially if they aren't putting the focus on any good games.

I'll probably pre-order about a dozen of them, put them on eBay, and make a killing. Fuck stocks, toys are where it's at.

agreed,i guess they raise the price with every new model....i doubt it will make same phenomenon like previous ones..but twill tell u :x many people cant realise that the time spent on games is lost but anyway i am ex-gamer

they will still sell a shitload of em. but i think they are prolly about 100 bones to much (regardless of technology used), when compared to what is available now (360) & what the mass market will support. i am on the fence about when i will get one. since most of the 360 games released were relatively subpar & didnt live up to the hype.

i'd probably wont be getting this for awhile since the pricing is in USD ... it might cost me close to a thousand smackeros after currency conversation and the local vendors making a little profit :(

I think it's pretty expensive compared to the Xbox 360. Prices of the 360 are still dropping, so in November the price difference will be huge!

I heard something about being able to play all the old games from ps1 & ps2 on ps3.that might be worth it.I havent bought a gamin system since sega dreamcast.something like this might get me back in the game.
