And it's only like 3 months old :what it's a ipod mini. I've tried to hook it up to both my pc's and nothing. reset doesn't work either. and i don't have a warranty because it was a gift. :x

If its less then a year old then you should have no problem with the warranty. You can also just ask when they got it for you.

yeah it works again, i hooked it up again and all of a sudden it showed that big battery thing on the scream. it was still frozen but with some fucking around i got it to work (thank god):D:Mike:

you could have called apple and run the serial number (right on the back) to see if it was under warranty (incase you need it sometime).

Had a similar problem with my christmas gift IPod. Took it to the Apple store (twice) and they replaced it with no charge/problems. It was a bad hard drive. All they do is run the serial number. They did not ask for a receipt.
Replace it now while it is still under warranty.

i have an hp ipod that i had to ship back because the hard drive crapped out, now i have a new one thats supposed to crap out on me any second, because thats what hp ipods do, its a vicious cycle.

arrggh! my ipod took a shit yesterday, and had to restore it. but what sucks is that for some reason my itunes wasnt reading the music from my hard drive so i have to reinput all of my music before i can put it back into my ipod, this sucks because i have 30gigs of music to redo.:evil:

i finely gave in and got one. the trade in on my old sony meant for less money i got a video ipod. Battery life sucks, Itunes sucks, filing system sucks. but it means i got music wherever i go!!!

very rarely use the video funtion these days, would prefer to read a book and listen to tunes, altho i did watch part of a documentary today ive had on it for ages called 'cooking with marijuanna with chef hans'

Pretty poor mate, 2hrs watching video will pretty much drain it.
Depends if you ride trains/buses tho for longer than this period, if so, then yeah, battery life is pretty shit, but if your hopping on a train into (eg) work/college then u could prolly recharge it there
