Selling an iPod

Anyone interested in buying an extremely well maintained virtually scratch free white 40 GB 4th Generation Ipod ? Other than the wall charger (which I suspect I may have forgotten in a hotel room), I am looking to sell it with EVERYTHING that it came with. i.e. USB Cable, Manuals, iTunes CD, Headphones, spare headphone earpiece black covers and the original Box. Heck even the original plastic casing that the iPod came in is still with me.

I'm looking to sell it because I wanted to get the 5th Gen iPod (Mrs. has fallen for it :) ). Asking price is about $250 (obo) - I paid $399 for it last Christmas.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with the unit. It's performed flawlessly since the day I got it and it continues to perform that way. Not to mention the unit is used extremely sparingly i.e. once a month we make a road trip out mid-west to visit family and that's the only time it is turned on i.e. the drive to and from. Otherwise it stays unused at home.

Battery life is exactly the same as it was since day 1. Apple say's about 12 hours but thats only if you let it play continously for 12 hours without changing the volume, skipping songs or operating any features which also cause the backlight to come on and consume more battery. We've gotten a healthy 8 hours out of it (it's never gone off for the 7.5 hour drive that it was used for)

Physically / Visually, the unit is "like new" and very well maintained. It has been in a glove like rubber covering since the day it came out of the box. Hence the "virtually" scratch free condition. I will also include the $12.99 (was $15 iirc) rubber protective covering in the sale for free.

Buyer pays shipping.

if you have a different price in mind, feel free to PM me and we can negotiate / work something out

Thanks

Re: Selling an iPod

Didnt they stop making those as well now? Try selling on ebay to make more if noone here buys. I am gonna sell my Ipod Mini since they are virtually gone from Apple, I can make a decent amount since everyone wants them still and not the crappy nano's.

Re: Selling an iPod

yea ebay was my next stop, thought it would be easier to sell it to an MS-ite as opposed to trying to get rid of it on ebay, I've never really sold on there before so be a bit of a learning curve.

Re: Selling an iPod

If you do decide to sell on ebay, be sure to talk up about how they are no longer being made blah blah blah, a friend of mine sold her mini for the same price she paid for it a year ago...didnt even deduct minor wear and tear! I had a family member offer to buy my mini since i have rarely used it lol. Even craigslist people would probably buy. Sometimes its hard to sell on ebay if you dont have a lot of seller feedback or whatever, but you never know!

If i used mine enough I would probably buy it from you, but I rarely use mine...never mind a larger one :)

Re: Selling an iPod

thanks for that.... good advise Jamie.... I'll probably ask one of my buddies to put it up on eBay cause they probably have more rep than me :p

whoa whoa whoa. i've had a mini for a while now but just got a nano for christmas. the nano is freakin incredible. not as much memory but the thing is just bigger than a stick of gum. it's pretty amazing. pretty much the coolest ipod yet.

Re: Selling an iPod

Do a simple search...anyone that knows the original ipods, minis whatever...know the qualoty is 100x better than those nanos.

The Apple salesmane even told me that they are not good quality! They scratch VERY easily...the screens break blah blah.

There are a ton of news articles and regular user reviews of how flimsy and shitty it is. You may like it now but in 6-9 months when it isnt new n shiny you will see.

Re: Selling an iPod

hey encryption why are you shelling out for the new 60GB when you admit you rarely use your existing one?

But the 60GB is awesome by the way!

Re: Selling an iPod

 :Spam:

e, you should try to market this thing a little better. call it a special edition encyption model of the ipod. comes complete with some of your favorite sets. and then recolor it orange or something. seems to have worked for U2 and their ipod.
