audio cd imported as one .mp3 file in tunes?

Hey everyone,

I just picked up Luke fair's O.S. 3 and want to import it into my ipod as one .mp3 file to avoid the gaps between the songs. I have used apple's faq to try and get the gaps removed, but it isn't working for me. Does anyone know how to import all the tracks as one big .mp3 file?

Thanks, Steve

Use Exact Audio Copy (http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/) or any other ripping prog to rip the CD and then upload that to your iPod.

i dont know...youre a bills fan and thats not good....although if you live in buffalo id help you for the pain of having to live in buffalo.

:P :P :P

ok, ill give you my 2 cents...unless you stick all the audio fiiles into an editor(pro tools. logic, peak...) and bounce it down to a single file youre out of luck.

now, as an alternative, you could take a program like audio hijack and record the output of itunes. import the album into itunes and then play the whole album through i tunes while recording it in audio hijack. www.rogueamoeba.com

thatll be 25 cents please.

thats a much better way if it gives you the option of converting all the tracks into one single track file.

if youre trying to circumvent the "click" that itunes puts in between tracks then your only alternative is an editor. otherwise, leave it as separate tracks! you can skip through it easier.

Re: audio cd imported as one .mp3 file in tunes?

If you use Itunes,

select the cd in your playlist column, then select all songs (apple + a), under advanced in the top menu choose join cd tracks, you'll see them join with an arrow, then import the first track (it will be the only one left with a check mark). it will import as one full file with no skips

go into the preferences and set the space between songs to 0

pretty much the only way to do it. it would be nice though if you could keep the tracks without the breaks. it's nice to skip betweeen tracks every once in a while

Re: audio cd imported as one .mp3 file in tunes?

If you want to skip through the mix on your Ipod, you double click the center button, you will see an diamond appear in the timeline, then use the wheel to scroll through the mix, the faster you move, the faster it scrolls.

Your welcome Viceroy, any time!

In Toast under the Advanced menu, choose mixed mode CD, then when you see the word pause with and arrow next to it (on the left hand side) click on it and set to zero seconds, when it tells you there has to be a 2 second skip on the first track, that at the beginning of the cd and will not interupt the mix. You will have a seamless cd with tracks to skip through.

i thought this seemed out of the realm of toast but i gave it a try. im not sure why you say to use mixed mode as there is no data involved. as well, it doesnt make it into one file when you drop the files into mixed mode, and then export them out. nor does it make a single track on a CD once you burn it. did i miss something, a step?

Is this better than importing it via iTunes and using the combine tracks feature?
