Re: which mp3 player?

Hey, Clausen :) Long time no speak, man... hows it going?

I recently bought that little thinggy:

It?s actually #1 at 3 German test-magazines and has

 • 1 GB space on a card (enough for 10 albums)
 • integrated radio
 • record-function (records from radio, mic, line-in)
 • usable as a USB-stick for all data-types (appears like an external harddisc)
 • file copy via drag-and-drop
 • equalizer
 • 2 headphone-outputs for dual use
 • an enourmous output-volume and sound, especially with that SRS-WOW-effect
 • 25hours (!) non-stop-playing with one accu-filling
 • Sennheiser headphones
 • only 40g weight
 • and is very small
 • costs about 170 Euro

I?m very happy with it..

Cheers Guenther

edit: That thing plays all sorts of MP3, WMA, OGG, WAV and can hadle DRM-files.

Re: which mp3 player?

I believe from www.tigerdirect.com that apple just lowered the prices on the Ipods. From 300 for the 20 gig down to 250 for the same 20 gigs. I can dig that. But i'd rather spend $200 for a 202 gig.

Re: which mp3 player?

FYI - Price Cuts

"Apple is selling two versions of the white iPod: a 20-gigabyte version now with a color screen for $299 and a 60-gigabyte color model that was cut to $399 from $449. Apple also dropped the price of the 1-gigabyte iPod shuffle to $129 from $149, the company said Tuesday."

The color screen looks pretty cool too...

I have the 4G 20GB and i'm happy with it and all...but at the end of the day, it's an mp3 player and it's all about what's in it....

I don't know about you all, but I have 19GB of top-shelf, high-quality, wicked azz sets.

Re: which mp3 player?

iv'e got a 40 gig zen jukebox had it 20 months now still going strong .. though not posted to recomend that cos u can get smaller with longer battery life now . what i am saying is whateva mp3 playa you choose don't settle for the crappy inear plugs they supply. it's like sticking the wheels of a ford focus on a ferrari . best reasonable priced headphones u can get which are ok for bing out and about are "sennheiser px100's " for under ?150 u won't find much better "only ?35" off the net

Re: which mp3 player?

the sound quality is priority when i look for a mp3 player. i listened to the new sony hd5. the sound quality is good, but i've read the software that comes with it (sonicstage) is driving people mad.

There is a huge buzz on the 'iaudio x5'. Excellent sound, plenty of features, and a solid build.

i'm looking into the x5 myself.

Re: which mp3 player?
Do any MP3 players have the fast forwarding capabilities of the iPod? That's my favorite feature of the iPod: the ability to get to the middle of an 60-minute set in 3 seconds.
on creatives u can fastforward but it builds speed fastforwading gradualy quicker.. but u can drop bookmarks though only one bookmark per set is a bit shitty ..............i can't get the hangof this quoting melarky

Re: which mp3 player?

Well I just got my self a 4Gb mini Ipod and I love it so much Im going to sell it and buy a colour 20Gb one at the end of the month.

Itunes is a bit shit, and it annoys me that i cant drag the artist name to the very left column, but still ipods are awsome.

Re: which mp3 player?

Ipod, Ipod, Ipod!!! And dont spent too much getting the big one. I have the 4gig mini and really how many sets are you going to store. You usually only listen to a set if its really good about 3-6 times and thats streching it! The old sets burn them if it breaks your heart to get rid of them.

This sounds like a fucking steal! I was looking into getting a 4/5GB player, and most appeared to be in the $180 range... then I saw this link, which is $187USD for a 30GB Creative Zen Xtra. how's the Zen Xtra?

Re: which mp3 player?
not sure about this being the right forum for this topic but couldn't find any better place to post it

people need your recommendations about mp3-players... money is not an issue in this case but couldn't find any proper player yet. started thinking about the ipod but got turned down by the itunes file organizing system (which i downloaded for trial), found it quite annoying (i?m used to organize my files in different folders on the harddisk). second i thought about the iriver h340, but couldn't find too much information about how the files are organized/uploaded to the player. another thing that turns me down with both players is the size, lovely it would be to have a player with the size of the ipod mini but with more capacity than just 6gb (which is too little imo to concentrate your music collection)

any comments about not so known players, perhaps the new sony mp3-players? any info on this issue will be appreciated

cheers clausen
Hello stranger,

Depends what your looking for. Is it a compact mp3? do you need alot of storage like a 40 or 60G player. I went for the Aero from Soniqcast. It has a wireless FM transmitter so you can hear your MP3's where ever you have an FM radio. So yes, I had Hernan playing in every Hotel, car, portable radio (at work, beach) and of course at home. Cant wait for the Aero 2 to come out.
