iPad Air
Re: iPad Air
Probably will get one. I have an iPad2 that I dropped a long time ago and the screen is peeling up on the corner. It works fine, but it really bugs me. Will give the old one to my wife. She won't care.
Re: iPad Air
I'm trying to decide between the iPad Mini 2 w/ Retina or the 13" MBP w/ Retina. I know they're completely different products but I'd like to get at least one of 'em. My old iPad 2 is showing its age too.
Re: iPad Air
I'm deciding between the Mini or Air. I already have a Kindle for reading and it's the same size. I want something to read comics on and probably to watch videos when traveling and surf the net in the toilet. Leaning towards the Air.
Re: iPad Air
Dude iPad mini, it really is that good, I've messed around a bit with a colleagues first gen Mini its just awesome to hold an over-sized iPhone rather than an miniaturized iPad.
Re: iPad Air
I know it's portable, I'm just not sure if the format is good for comics  Will swing by the Apple store today and have a feel.
Re: iPad Air
I'm really interested in finding a way to install an iPad mini in my car to use as an A/V source. The trick is getting it mounted in a way that is easily viewable and accessible, but not blocking any of the normal car controls and staying out of the way of the airbags in case of an accident.
The cool thing is that I have an external device that will give an Optical Digital output from an Ipad which I can run directly into my DSP processor (Audison BitOne).
Re: iPad Air
So I've never owned an iPad and I'm shocked at the prices. USD599 for the 32GB model, USD699 for the 64GB model?!:(
32 or 64GB? Is 64 overkill?
Re: iPad Air
64 is overkill, I bought a 64 gig one with the mindset of converting a bunch of mkvs to ios friendly formats, you know how many I ended up converting. A resounding ZERO. Not only will you never use it to play movies (because you'll be at home 99% of the times when you pick up your ipad - in which case you will already have your TV / Computer to go to) but being the size it is, you wont ever use it as an iPod.
I would just buy a 32 gig and be done with it.
What I would recommend is getting one with a Sim card slot. You NEVER know when you'd end up using it if you're travelling / on the road some time.
Re: iPad Air
Got the 32GB space grey. Selling out like hot cakes. The 128 and 64 models were already gone.
Re: iPad Air
I've got a Commodore 64

Wha?
Re: iPad Air
I just got the go-ahead to get an iPad for work, an interesting week ahead to see how the Retina iPad Air will perform :)

funny.. this is exactly why i sold my iPad 2 lol
Re: iPad Air
I absolutely loved my iPad2 (matter of convenience really) ... just sold it for $300 sooooo I might pick up the Air after all....if there are any decent Black Friday sales around. I'm looking into the 32GB atm, 64GB would be awesome... but that's way over budget/priced.
Re: iPad Air
That's quite a price you got for your iPad 2. I have a 64 GB version which my wife doesn't want to sell off so we're debating between the iPad Mini 2 or the new MBP with Retina + Haswell processors i.e. if the Mrs. doesn't get the Mini 2, I might get the MBP next year.
Re: iPad Air
I haven't used mine as much as I thought I would. I find it a very passive device, just another screen to view stuff. Typing on the touch screen has been a pain. Hopefully when my comic reader app is updated I'll have more use for it.
Re: iPad Air
Re: iPad Air
Just a note.. really enjoying the wifi connectivity of the iPad Air... it picks up my 5Ghz band on the 2nd floor with no issues... this is very impressive... I can now stream movies to this devices with no traffic interruptions. no other device can see this band unless I am in the basement where my router is set up.... pretty damn cool.
