So it seems that my hotmail account has been hacked. Lots of my friends reported receiving spam e mails from my account with dodgy links within. There are almost 100 e mails in my sent folder that I didn't send!

My question is what do I do now? Do I have to deactivate the account or just carry on as normal? Don't want my friends to receive any more spam really?

I think I'd just get a new e-mail address.

I'm sure Hotmail has some sort of protocol for accounts that have been hacked. might be worth looking into?

Just change your password and if you use the same password for other accounts change them too, shouldn't be an issue then.

Also I'd run a malware checker such as: [URL]http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free[/URL] And also maybe Spybot: [URL]http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html[/URL]

Stop clicking those links of hot chicks who are in your town and want to bang you. They don't!

Also hotmail blows. Move to gmail. :D

hotmails get hacked all the time. you can probably just change the p/w and keep using it though...not that i know anything about that stuff
