Rumor-mill churning, photos are turning
These photos also clearly show some of the features of the next-generation iPhone. The long rumored smaller dock connector is present, the earphone jack has been moved to the bottom corner of the device (the first time Apple has done this on one of their smartphones), the speaker grills have been redesigned, and there is a new opening between the camera lens and the LED flash. We’re not sure what this opening is, but it is possible that Apple is moving the second microphone (Apple started shipping two microphones with the iPhone 4) to the back for improved audio capture during video recording.

We also have photos of some of the next-generation iPhone parts, other than the black and white backs. The above two photos show a next-generation iPhone frame that holds in components such as the home button (which is definitely present). According to our supply chain sources, who obtained these parts, the frame indicates that the new iPhone will be the same width as the current 4 and 4S models, but it will be longer. This adds to our report in which we claimed the new iPhone would sport a taller screen with the same width. Sources say that the new iPhone’s interface will be redesigned to take advantage of the newly available screen real estate. The screen resolution is said to be 1136 x 640, with a screen size of 3.999 inches (diagonally)
Not much difference from the i4 then !

Re: iPhone 5

Its supposed to be the same width as the current iphone but nearing on 4 inches in height. Of course the rumors that iOS6 will be included are rife so let's see.

Re: iPhone 5

Switching to a different sized dock connector is going to limit sales at first, unless the phones ship with an adapter. Too many accessories with the old dock connectors; iHomes ect. Not sure what's up with the two-toned back. Maybe it's some sort of built in grip as it looks like a thin layer of rubber. Love the new screen size though, but there will have to been some other hardware features for me to run out and buy one.

iPhone 5 Rumors And Leaks Examined And Put To The Test [IMAGES] | iJailbreak.com

If you took a look at this weeks top 10 news stories you will realize that there were a ton of leaks and rumors relating to the next-generation iPhone. Some of the most notable leaks included thealleged backing for the iPhone 5, schematics for the iPhone 5 and other various components. With all of these leaks and rumors TechnoBuffalo took the initiative of taking all of the leaked information we have seen over the last little while and has investigated each part. The first thing they did was flattened, scaled and printed the leaked iPhone 5 schematics and compared it with the iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 schematics. Assuming that the schematic of the iPhone 5 is indeed legit it means we will see a 0.3 inch increase in height of the screen featured on the iPhone 5. If you measure the screen diagonally it is actually an increase of half an inch, which means the screen of the next-generation iPhone will be sitting at around 4 inches compared to the current size of 3 inches. These schematics become even more impressive when you take some of the proposed leaked iPhone 5 parts and overlay them. As you can see in the image below they line up perfectly. With this in mind a rough scaled render of what the iPhone 5 might look like was created (don’t be too critical yet, better renderings are coming). With a 4.0 inch display and the rumoured resolution of 1136 x 640 it translates into an additional pixel height of 176 pixels over previous generations of the iPhone. With an extra 176 pixels it would allow Apple to add another row of icons, or even have an option for placing widgets on the SpringBoard (homescreen). You can see what the homescreen of the iPhone 5 could look like in the image below: I know the first time I saw these renderings I couldn’t quite find a word to describe how I felt about them. I am definitely for increasing the size of the next-generation iPhone’s screen, but to me it just looked a little bit weird. This all changed however, when I seen the proposed iPhone 5 being held. It actually looks quite natural and the increased height of the screen doesn’t seem to effect how it would feel holding it (it wouldn’t feel too big like holding the Galaxy Note). When you actually take the time to examine various component leaks and rumors for the next-generation iPhone you can see that there is some real conclusive evidence that an iPhone with a large screen would be completely possible. And for those of you thinking a larger screen would upset developers you need to keep a couple of things in mind. First of all, just like the launch of the new iPad there will obviously be some applications which are not optimized and will run in a windowed or stretched state. This is expected however, and would be necessary at some point in time obviously unless Apple sticks with a 3.5 inch screen for all future generation iPhones. Secondly the pixel density ratio of the graphics is actually the same, however; there’s just an additional 176px worth of height.

Re: iPhone 5

The new pros are a fukin work of art. Yowzers.

I'd love one but they are hella $$. I have 2 13" Air's right now. My personal one and my work one I just got :D

I'd love to sell this big ass PC desktop and replace it with a new pro for my laptop/desktop gaming but thats prob not a smart idea right now.

how is it any better than what you have now? Just curious.

Re: iPhone 5

Here's a good couple of pages to compare:

Apple - MacBook Pro with Retina display - Technical Specifications Apple - MacBook Air - Compare the 11- and 13-inch MacBook Air.

Unfortunately I dont think they have a one page side by side comparison, but that will give you an idea.

The international i9300 (iirc) versions have the exynos quad core processors with 1 GB ram. The one's coming to the US carriers (CNET is a US show) will be getting dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon processors with 2 GIGs of RAM.

Hence why it is more expensive and much easier to sell.. with less depreciation ;)
