Re: Skyrim

Oh my god cant stop playing. It sucks you in...I havn't done any work. I havn't gone outside. I havn't even had a chance to download any new sets. I recommend not to start playing this game or else you will go blind looking at your computer screen from the amount of time you waste on this game.

Re: Skyrim

played the previous Elder Scrolls and absolutely fell in love with it... however with this one I don't think it will work on my first gen aluminum macbook pro.. probably a good thing in the end lol

similar note.. haven't played a single computer game since college.. been 4 years now on the wait for diablo 3.

I had a roommate who never went outside except for work, but otherwise played World of Warcraft. It was amazing, that was all he ever did, ever.

Re: Skyrim

I have it but it is still sealed and waiting on my shelf. Last weeks, I played Uncharted 3 and I am still playing White Knight Chronicles 2 (both PS3 Games) and that's the reason why I didn't touch it yet. I also think it is not the worst idea to wait a few weeks. Maybe the weirdest bugs are removed by then and a few good mods are already available (bought Sykrim for PC). I am sure it is a hell of a Game and I spent lots of hours with Morrowind and Oblivion already so this one is surely not different.

Re: Skyrim

Re: Skyrim

I used to play MMORPGs, but then I took an arrow in the knee.

Re: Skyrim

I've heard this game is awesome but I tried and tried to play Morrowind and I couldn't get into it. So I'm staying away from this game. Plus, I've got Arkham City, Gears 3, and Super Mario Wii to beat before I need to worry about another beatable game. That is all second to Star Wars, which I nerded out on that thread about.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying they are bad games, I just can't get into them. I love/loved the Final Fantasy series, I just can't get into the Elder Scrolls games.

Re: Skyrim

During the last weeks, I played Skyrim quite a lot and LUV it! This Game is one for the lonely Island..so many locations to explore and so many distractions lol. Normally, I plan to follow one or several quests but in the end, I run ten other quests because I stumble over them on my way to the quest goals I wanted to follow initially lol.

At the beginning, it was a bit disturbing because it felt like you get new quests all five minutes and all quest goals were faaar away from my actual location but after a while, I got used to it.

But I must say I am glad that I chose the PC version because there are still a hell lot of bugs in the Game. I had half a dozen of quests I couldn’t finish because of these bugs and without console commands on the PC, I would have never been able to solve them.

I also love some of the Skyrim mods and they are only available for the PC. You can download many goodies for free like better textures, better home bases, new quests and items.

I have been playing Skyrim for about 80 hours so far and I still have a bit more than a third of the World to explore and besides the Werewolves companions and Mage Academy quests, all other fraction quests are still open to play and main story is also only completed 50% so far. I think I will need at least 50-70 hours more to explore the World and do as many quests as possible so you get quite a lot for your money. But that’s the case in all Bethesda RPG and why I love their Games.

Re: Skyrim

i'm pretty addicted as well. i've probably soaked 80 hours into the game, myself and i have purposely not pursued the main quest. i'm currently doing the thieves guild quests and i've got a dozen other that are dangling out there as well.

i'm playing the ps3 version. the only realy frustration i have is the saving/loading time. it can get ridiculous. other than that, i'm just as addicted to this as i was elder scrolls.

Re: Skyrim

Garrick, what's your name on PSN? Add me, I'm picklemonkey. Do you play COD much? :o:

Re: Skyrim

honestly, i can't even remember my name. i'll add ya... i never play online though. if i did that, i'm pretty sure i'd have no life outside of video games and my gf would abandon me. hehe.

Re: Skyrim

Yeah I heard the loading times on PS3 are pretty bad and loading the textures is slow too. On the PC, I can't complain. The Game is installed on a Solid State disk and litereally, there are no loading times lol. When I start the Game, it takes about 10 seconds till I am in the main menu to load a Game. When I load a Game, the screen turns black but it is only for a heart beat and the Game is loaded. PC's FTW!

#1606437Post 21 of 23

Re: Skyrim

that must be nice... it pisses me off when i get caught pickpocketing over and over and each time i have to wait for it to load. as for the textures, when i've played for more than 2-3 hours consecutively, sometimes the textures turn to solid pastel colors making it impossible to play. i guess it might be good that i'm forced to turn it off and take a break. :p

Re: Skyrim

^^ that's surely a security feature to protect you lol. But Skyrim on the PC crashes one time per week for sure too - and in a way that I have to shut down the PC manually pushing the button lol. Had the same problem in Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. Same engine, same problem, never fixed.
