Can anyone recommend a good, inexpensive (or even free) file hosting service? I don't need a full web site management thing, I really just need a server with FTP access that will allow me to host a number of small images and a CSS file that I can link to for a fantasy football league I run.

I've looked at MJ's service, of course, but even the most basic package seems like overkill for what I need.

TIA

Check out http://dropbox.com. You can make a public folder, upload files to it by just copy/pasting in Windows to a Dropbox folder, right-click it to get a public link, and paste the link to your friends or use it in HTML

I love dropbox.

How about http://boxify.me/ has anyone used this? Possibly a another alternative to dropbox.

I had discounted dropbox because I thought it wouldn't let me create a static link such that I could hotlink to, but I see now that's not the case. Using it now, and it is absolutely working like a champ. Even better than what I had anticipated, actually. Thanks for the tip.

sweet! You can also share folders with your friends, so if you ever run out of space ask one of your football buddies to create an account and share it with you. You'll be able to link them together so you can have double the space for your storage
