Re: Hawtin / Burridge @ Aria, Montreal 12/18
I believe it is...
this is a possibility. But, it is a longer drive than usual
this is a possibility. But, it is a longer drive than usual
and well worth it if you could do it. That is an absolutely brilliant 1-2 punch!
^^^^ definitely well worth it. Is anyone familiar with Montreal? I have never been there. Any hotels in that area? Thanks
Word. I am heading up. Is anyone going? :P
So how was it? Somebody's got to post a review...
Cold & Cracked Out in Canada..............
Got to the club a little past 2. Waited in the cold for about 20 minutes. A shitload of guys. Got to the door. Got searched with the wand. good stuff. Checked our coats, then walked downstairs. Comfy, leather red couches scattered on both sides of the cold club. Walked further down the stairs towards the dancefloor and was greeted by a " House dealer " That is right, a house dealer......I spoke with him for a bit and he told me that he was the connection for the house. Him and his friend on the other side of the stairs. Security was very laxed at the club, as well as substance use, even though you could smell alot of bud in the air. We got sorted out, then moved down to the dancefloor. Burridge was up first. He was on. Spinning some hard ass tech. Sounds were bumping up and down on the floor. 30 foot ceilings. Flat tv screens hung on the wall. It was a semi-bright room. Side top side grin from the man. His arms were moving up and down to the sounds of horms and drums. I was bumping up and down like a rabbit. I found my groove.
5 O'clock came around. Our night had begun, and our tour of the club was on, or at least a tour of the bathroom, then the cold, smoky lounge. Richie hawtin got on the decks, with 2 apple powerbooks on hand. He was very, very hard. His tech was bouncy. Back and forth, in and out. Everyone was dancing. Lots of smiles. He was a little too hard for us, so we ventured back to the lounged and chilled with many others.
Left the club around 9. Walked outside to the cold, cold snow. Got to the hotel and finally passed out. Woke up again to the cold, cold snow. it was a very long drive back, all cracked out, but it was a very good time. The late check was the best thing, and I recommend that you get one when you head to Canada.........
