[B][I]SMOG[/I][/B] recently released its first label compilation, ‘[U][B]SMOG City[/B][/U],’ premiering the first track “Bass Salt” by 12th Planet & Antiserum on [URL=http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/bass-salt-by-12th-planet-antiserum-20121009]Rollingstone.com (free download)[/URL]. The compilation features 9 original tracks by 12th Planet, Antiserum, SPL, Flinch, The Juggernaut, Noah D, Kelly Dean, Bare, and Djyuna, representing the label’s history with dubstep as well as its continuous evolution in the sounds of West Coast bass music.
[I]SMOG[/I] was founded in summer 2006 by Drew Best, Danny Johnson and John Dadzie a.k.a. 12th Planet. Originally an event production company, SMOG has expanded into a record label, artist development hub and lifestyle brand. With frontman 12th Planet and artists such as Flinch, Antiserum, SPL, Noah D, Kelly Dean and DLX at the helm of the label, they’ve released collaborations with some of the genre’s biggest names such as [url="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=1726"]Skrillex[/url], Kill The Noise, Datsik, Doctor P, Distance, Excision, and Plastician. SMOG is now considered one of the founding brands of North American dubstep and bass music.
