I went record shopping in San Francisco this Saturday, all day. I stopped by this record shop called "Tweekin' Records" on Haight Street, and found a sole copy of the classic Trancesetters - Roaches in NYC [Dot Dot].

I also found this record, Chris Coco - Only Love [Distinctive]. It's off the hook to say the least..

Anyone found any gems lately? Been seeing alot of reprints pop up, especially S&D with their Northern Exposure releases. Also found Chemical Brothers - Battle Weapon 6, CLASSIC

Re: Gems

The most recent "rare" vinyl I found and bought was Los Diablos Locos - El Locomotion on Oboro Recs '97 as played by JD live twilo '99 and also on his 1st Bedrock cd.

Nice mint copy of it too. That's it. Other so called Gems I've been lucky enough to collect would be:

Desyfer - 831 (Global Beat recs promo) Narcotik - Blue (Platipus) The Blackmaster - Solid Tube (Bonzai) <-- one of the last id's to Oakeys China set, only one missing...

I'm still looking for a nice copy of Two Fishes - The Opera (Vince O' Matic mix) (Omnisounds) <-- think this is the famous unknown 4th track to Oakeys '99 Ibiza set

san fran is my favorite place to record shop. i picked up so many bombs (a lot with that NYC sound) for a couple bucks at ameoba.

my recent finds are madonna bottom heavy dub ($2 in boston) saints sinners-push ($1 in amherst MA)

the saints and sinners isnt my fav, but dt played it a few wks back and its brought some life to the track for me. n

The rarest thing I found for .99 and then sold for $125.00 was a mint copy of Brothers Love Dubs "1-800-MING" :D

Re: Gems

I just found a copy of the track Dumas & Martinez - Death of My Soul [Beat Freak] Still remembered when Digweed dropped this @ the end of his Budapest Hungary set about a year ago. Not the same mix, but it still has the dope voiceovers.

I also finally picked up the classic Sasha EP; Xpander

I'd love a copy of 1-800 Ming (Rui Da Silva Remix) from GU019, can't seem to track it down...

I did run into 'Fluke - Reeferendum' a few weeks ago. Bit of TUNE that is. 8)

Finally got the Underworld Mix of Bjork - Human Behaviour as well.

It took me 4 years to find a copy... At one time I had 4 copies. I sold two and gave one away. The Audio Therapy pressing is much harder to find though.

i've found tons of records serendipitously at record stores, but they're probably not gems according to most peoples' taste so i won't mention them. but i have found:

freaky chakra - platform ($1, berkeley rasputins) justine - want me, love me ($2, berkeley amoeba) god within - the phoenix (album) ($8, berkeley rasputins)

seen two copies of the phoenix at rasputins.

Re: Gems

picked up s&d renaissance discs 1 / 2 on vinyl today, would have picked up all three but didn't have the ends. listening to it on the system at the shop the vinyl gave so much life to the tracks it was nice, definantly some gems, i think they're limited edition as well?
