Re: Deep Dish vs. The Doors--Stormy Dance

why does everyone hate these remixes of classic tracks?

i enjoy being able to throw in some remixes of songs that people actually know...

sorry

#345159Post 5 of 23

The Doors ARE a myth! Don't touch one of their tracks. Pure rape imo.

i understand your dislike for deep dish. those two guys have been rude to me at two different shows in the last couple of years. i just really love the doors and it is a catchy remix... :o

deep dish are assholes!

Re: Deep Dish vs. The Doors--Stormy Dance

I don't believe its had any release yet. But, check soulseek, I found a high quality mp3 of it...

#348921Post 11 of 23

It is out you can pick it up at hardtofindrecords.....

Personally, I think classics like that should be left alone but if it is a excellent reproduction of a classic then I have no probs with it.

#348924Post 12 of 23

i love the doors and that song is a clasic.. when i first heard the remix i didn't like it , but it grew on me.. hey when they drop it at a club it will be the closest any of us will be to hearing jim morrison at a concert like setting

The Doors ARE a myth! Don't touch one of their tracks. Pure rape imo.
by the way the doors are a leyend ..myths are never proven

#348956Post 13 of 23

its hardly a remix its just a sample from the doors used to great affect .............

same as Flashdance was a sample nicked from the movie flashdance, btw a track only becomes commercial when it becomes successful overground and yes it irritates me now, but first couple of times I heard it played out in a club, it rocked

plus stormy dance seems to be a more of a club track, with a dubby underground feel with little or no cross-over appeal

#349032Post 14 of 23

no everything deep dish does is commercial :)

#364010Post 15 of 23

I think the Deep Dish remix is extremely catchy, but it's too happy and campy sounding to work into my sets.

#364465Post 16 of 23

deep dish will never be the same as they were time ago.. i totally agree with Psynce
The Doors ARE a myth! Don't touch one of their tracks. Pure rape imo
#365119Post 17 of 23

 I fully disagree with the statement above.. First off I feel Deep Dish have progressed a great deal from their original Penetrate Deeper album. This is a really great mix as is their remix on Accelerator. Some of their other recent mixes haven't been up to par, yet this new remix rocks...

#365479Post 18 of 23

well i dont get the reason for building all that hate against the guys .. i really like flashdance personally catchy tune ...i know ppl who hate house music but really liked the tune ..this means the guys are good at spreading their stuff .it's loike the p diddy track last year ..easy tune simple but catched alot of ppl ...they are smart ,maybe not quality but smart

#365510Post 19 of 23

and this forum is dedicated to quality, not smart

i dont think anyone said "deep dish are shitty business men." we said "deep dish now suck as djs"

#369734Post 20 of 23

is it just me, or is anybody here not aware that this is a TOMMYBOY mix, not deep dish

tommyboy took bits from flashdance & stormy dance and used them to make this medley

the only thing this has to do with deep dish is that part of their track was used by someone else to make this track

#369741Post 21 of 23

Re: Deep Dish vs. The Doors--Stormy Dance

i noticed that... on the sleeve on the record is says tommyboy rmx, yet on the vinyl itself it says deep dish rmx. it totally sounds deep dish style tho...

AMEN to that brother. The Dorrs and Hendrix should NEVER be in a remix. Hell I don't even think people should try to play them in their bands, as it always takes away from the magic that those two people/groups made.
