The 80's remix to END ALL 80's remixes...

Tonight I was absolutely privileged to be witness to the global unveiling of what is, in my opinion, the absolute BEST 80's remix I have EVER heard:

Styx - Mr. Roboto (Martin Villeneuve Bootleg Remix)

Marty dropped this evening at his Tao monthly event here in Ottawa, and it absolutely melted everyone's mind. Great re-arrangement of the original...beautiful synth work....and one killer bassline.

I still have the memories of the track in my head....I haven't had a track hit me as hard as this one did tonight....and he played it right after Max Graham's "Owner of a Lonely Heart" remix...which made it even better!

 MV did a remix of a 80's classic? Can't wait to listen to it.. I'm a fan of STYX's music as well as MV's productions :Naughty: so I really can imagine that you're def right with your description. Anyway I'm a big fan of Tears For Fears and when Skylark putted their Shout's remix out I was completely out.. as the same happened with Greed's remix of Mothers Talk. Any fan of Tears For Fears out there or any 80's+ band? :Naughty:

Re: The 80's remix to END ALL 80's remixes...

man, i can't get enough of those 80's remixes.

oh shit, i didn't know max graham did the remix of that track. nice....

MV is a great producer and hopefully I'l get to hear that track soon.

But I still say the best 80's song remix was a remix of Dire Straits "Money for Nothing". I have no idea who did it but I give them a hand for producing a really strong remix.

Are you talking about Money for nothing / Flashdance mashup? That I believe is done by Sultan.

#330753Post 6 of 27

no it definitely didn't have flashdance mixed into it. It was all the money for nothing track but with some big bass drums and a kicking sound to it.

some should do a re-mix to Diar Straits-money for nothing

#336827Post 11 of 27

I had already mentioned that in the post beofre you.

The Dire Straits remix I am looking for is by Beat Sleyer. I saw it on HTFR but alas it was all sold out. I'll probably have a very hard time finding it. Though a bro of mine has it and traded me a digital copy for other song I got for him so I think i'll have it within the next week.

YEAH!!!!!!!

From Max's site: Max recently flew to the UK to finalize a deal regarding his remix of Yes? ? Owner of a Lonely Heart. Owner spent 3 weeks on the UK?s Buzz Chart, including one week at NUMBER ONE!!! This mix, properly billed as Max Graham vs. Yes, has the blessing of the original band members and should see a worldwide release early 2005.

#338429Post 13 of 27

Wow good for Max Graham, that'll probably be one of the first 80's remixes that gets a proper release.

I still say the Rod Stewart Do you think i'm sexy JunkieXL mix is my fav. But after that is that Dire Straits track. Then it'd have to be a remix i heard a good while back of The Cult's She Sells Sanctuary. Absolutely brilliant remix. I LOVE the original and now i love the remix.

the remix of dire straits you probably heard was dire straits - money for nothing (ralph falcon mix)

absolutely huge mix, none of the other mixes/mashups even come close to touching that bad boy

i'm pretty sure it was this Beat Sleyer mix. I found it on www.htfr.com but they were out of stock. Maybe it really is this ralph guys mix but that's what they have it on htfr as listed. Go check it out and you'll see what I'm hearing.

OSHO...do you have a link to that particular page. As I went there but did not find anything.

#345622Post 19 of 27

Deep Dish just released 'Money for Nothing'. It's a pretty cheesy remix imho and sounds like it's all Sharam's doing.

#346033Post 20 of 27

Jeffrey try this link
