Hard on the heels of the Original release comes the Sci-Fi Remixes EP on Stripped Digital. Featuring a journey across genres with some Electronica from qoob, Tech House from Lateral Cut Groove, deep house from Moojaa and finally some Progressive House out of LA with Alien Tom & Red Sonya. Venezuelan Alien produces house/electronica/pop and performs combining live sounds and electronics. And he steps up here to make his debut on Stripped Digital which is a four track electronica EP entitled Sci-Fi. Venezuelan Alien (aka Jerome Silsby) has a mind that has seen various musical crops grown over different times and in different spaces, he cherry picks rhythms, sounds and melodies from these generously modified orchards and combines with local organic acoustic produce. It's the combination of the familiar and the unusual that makes Alien tick tock. Coming from a background playing guitars, keyboards, and drums in various bands and genres and moving towards a combination of the electronic and acoustic with experimental ambient/dance/pop soundscapers Ampersound, Jerome first appeared as Venezuelan Alien playing clubs in Tokyo. On return to the UK, the Venezuelan Alien project was about sculpting a sound that drew influences picked up working and travelling abroad in folk, African drumming, the Andean charango, carnivals, Balinese and Javanese gamelan, into a template concocted from a rich mix of childhood, teenage, and student influences connected via friends, family, Manchester clubland or the green green grass of the Midlands. Jerome follows the view that there can be greater creativity within a certain frame which house allows, that gives space to draw from experimentation and pop whilst being driven by the dancefloor. Striving towards those moments where crossover and hybridity work is at the heart of Venezuelan Alien's sound, like a chicken tikka masala,Twin Peaks or a suprisingly effective cocktail.
