[b]Flow Vinyl[/b]’s second summer release is a collaboration between [b][url="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=534"]Darin Epsilon[/url][/b] and [b]Tom Sela[/b]. [b][url="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=534"]Darin Epsilon[/url][/b] from Los Angeles needs little introduction, and he combines a hectic international DJ schedule with productions on many of the best labels.
For his debut release on [b]Flow Vinyl[/b], Darin joined forces with regular studio partner [b]Tom Sela[/b] to create [i]Lapis Lazuli[/i], a breezy, percussive track that subtly takes hold of the listener.
A vocal sample rests on top of a complex array of percussion, including a deliciously sweet marimba, while other sounds drift in and out of the mix. Less is more with [i]‘Lapis Lazuli’[/i], and it’s sure to become a firm favourite at beach parties and open-air events this summer.
The international remix package starts with Hungary and [b][url="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=209"]Lank[/url][/b] who gives [i]‘Lapis Lazuli’[/i] a tougher tech edge while still retaining its original dreamy quality. Next up is [b]Andre Sobota[/b] from São Paulo who has released a string of well received tracks on labels like [b]microCastle Music[/b] and [b]Pryda Friends[/b]. The Brazilian producer delivers a remix in his trademark driving, big room style. [b]DNYO[/b], also from São Paulo, completes the picture with a darker, bass-heavy late night version.
